I am a bioarchaeologist at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panamá. My research focuses on the embodied biocultural diversity of the ancient populations in the Isthmo-Colombian Area, particularly evidence of infectious disease and biocultural activity markers. I also continue be interested in human malaria paleoepidemiology in the Old and New World. I have conducted fieldwork at sites in North and South America, the Near East, and Africa.
